Winyan Omniciye

    Winyan Omniciye is an organization of Flandreau Indian School female employees and wives of employees.  In early years, the organization was formed as an extension homemakers club.  As time went on, when the majority of women came to be employed outside of the home, the focus of the club came to be an auxiliary organization to provide services to Staff and students of Flandreau Indian School.

    Some of the services provided have been visits to hospitalized students, "get acquainted" supper for all employees prior to the start of school, serving at funerals for the families of deceased employees, Christmas Tea for all Staff, and Senior Tea for graduating seniors the morning before Graduation. 

    The organization has sold raffle tickets for star quilts, food baskets at Christmas, prepared and served the Athletic Banquet, and wedding receptions.

    The primary goal now is to award a basket full of goodies to a male and a female student who has done well both in academics and dormitory, on a monthly basis.
